Delicious Zucchini Chips

We have a lot of zucchinis. Though, with that many zucchinis the 1000 $ question is: what to do with them? You could stuff them, fry them, blend them to smoothies, give them away - or: dry them.
One of the 2015th christmas presents was a dehydrator. We used it before to dry berry bush leaves for tea and herbs for spices - which worked out very well. But that's a story Lumia has to tell.
So the dehydrator came in handy when we had to deal with this mass of delicious zucchinis.

How We Chose Our Photovoltaic System

2016-08-25

One of our early decisions when we started discussing moving to Finland was that we want to strive towards energy autonomy. Nick has lots of experience in DIY biogas (see Biogascentral) so we are eager to test biogas in this cold climate. Besides that we also looked into solar hot water and PV (photovoltaic) systems.

Tiny Cucumbers

Our cucumbers are now growing! Most of them are still really tiny, as you can see from the picture. We have some bigger ones already too, but I just needed to share the cute tiny ones with you. We have both salad cucumbers as well as gherkins and have already ate some of the salad cucumbers but the gherkins need some more time.

What I Made with my Black Currants

2016-08-07

On our premises we have many different berry bushes, including red, white, black and green currants. Most of our currants are red and black, so we do get quite a lot of harvest of these kinds. Most of the currants we simply freeze as it is so quick and convenient and the berries can be used in so many ways in the winter. A big part of the red currants goes into cakes during the season, too!
